Completed in 1915 Searles Castle was the vision of Edward F. Searles. Designed by Henry Vaughn it was built to reflect the style and construction of Stanton Harcourt Manor in Oxon County, England. After tracing his ancestry to Oxfordshire this antique collector and interior decorator with the help of Mr. Vaughn was able to bring his dream home reflective of his ancestry to light. Unfortunately Mr. Searles passed in 1920, five years after it's completion. This amazing structure and all of the grounds now belong to the Sisters of Mercy. The castle and grounds are available for weddings and special functions to raise funds to continue the charitable efforts of the Sisters of Mercy. This stone wall and guard tower lead the way up a winding, wooded, drive to the top of a hill where you can view the spectacular Searles Castle.
I've always loved to take photos ever since my parents let me play with their camera as a little girl. I love to seek out different angles of objects, architecture, landscapes, and people to create a unique and beautiful image. Behind the camera lens you take the time to stop and appreciate the bigger picture in life as well as the small details. I enjoy sharing my viewpoint through my lens with the world and hope it encourages everyone to stop and enjoy all that surrounds them. Even the everyday things! Any of these pieces would make a great addition to any décor, office, remodel, or make great gifts for others. Hope you enjoy!
