Description
As you start out on Highway 34 you are greeted by elk and moose munching on the abundant green grass and drinking water from crystal clear streams as you enter Rocky Mountain National Park. Ponderosa pine and Douglas Fir house lush forests and wildlife as you rise up along the winding road. As you rise up past 9.000 feet the lush forests give way to the subalpine forest home of the Engelmann Spruce and Subalpine Fir. The air begins to thin and the sky turns a brilliant shade of blue as you rise above the tree line at 11,500 feet. The views of the Rocky Mountains as you ascend to the alpine tundra will take your breath away. I had to stop and admire the breathtaking view of the melting snow and brilliant blue sky along this ridge as we travelled through Rocky Mountain National Park. You have to witness the cobalt blue skies first hand to believe it. I love being outside and enjoying the beauty of nature. Was so happy to stumble upon this highway and travel through this majestic national park. It was a once in a lifetime experience that will be forever imprinted on my mind and captured through my lens. .
